If you are a long-time SamMobile reader, you may have come across our “Where are Samsung phones made?” story before. And if you did, you probably know that Samsung has a significant production hub in Vietnam's Thai Nguyen province. In fact, that is the main facility where most Galaxy phones, tablets, and wearable devices get assembled.

The SEVT (Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen) factory has been churning out Galaxy smartphones for over 11 years now, and Samsung has just announced that the facility has crossed the staggering 1 billion phone production milestone.

Galaxy S24 Ultra topped the astounding 1 billion figure

Samsung celebrated the achievement at the SEVT factory, with General Director Park Sung Ho personally packaging the one billionth phone. Specifically, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was the hero phone that helped the factory reach the milestone.

The SEVT factory has been responsible for manufacturing a wide variety of Galaxy phones, each contributing to getting closer to a billion. Here's a quick overview of which models crossed every 100th million milestone:

    • The Galaxy Note 5 crossed 100 million.
    • The Galaxy S7 crossed 200 million.
    • The Galaxy S8, S9, S10, and S20 crossed the 300 through 600 million milestones.
    • The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra crossed the 700 million milestone.
    • The Galaxy Z Flip 3 crossed 800 million.
    • And the 900 million mark was topped by the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

At the ceremony held earlier this week, Samsung honored outstanding employees who helped the factory reach the staggering 1 billion phone production figure.

Samsung manufactured its first mobile phone in 1988. The company reached its first 1 billion production milestone after 21 years. And to date, Samsung has manufactured 6 billion phones globally. Park Sung Ho acknowledged that it is a huge achievement for the SEVT factory to have reached a billion phones alone in just ten years of production.

Samsung Vietnam has manufactured 2.13 billion smart Galaxy devices at the Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh factories combined. These devices range from smartphones and tablets to wearables.

PUBG getting 120 fps support on Galaxy S24, S23, and Z Fold 5!

Smartphone GPUs have become insanely powerful over the last few years, but there's no denying the fact that a lot of that power goes to waste when it comes to mobile games. Game developers also don't take advantage of features such as high refresh rate displays. 120Hz displays are quite common on smartphones these days, but […]
