Galaxy Tab S9 5G variants to get One UI 6.1 in April in some markets

Earlier today, Samsung announced that it will start rolling out One UI 6.1 to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 series tomorrow (28 March 2024). So, if you are a Galaxy Tab S9 user, you might be excited about it. However, there’s a catch, one that might disappoint owners of certain variants of the tablet.

In the press release, Samsung says “One UI 6.1 will roll out to connected versions of Tab S9 series in April.” By connected versions, the company is referring to models with cellular (5G) connectivity. That means Samsung will release One UI 6.1 to Wi-Fi + 5G variants of the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in April. It also means the company will roll out the update only to the Wi-Fi-only variants of those tablets tomorrow.

Since Samsung mentioned the clause only on the Newsroom for the US, the condition might be limited to the country. In other regions, the company might start releasing One UI 6.1 to Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 5G variants of the tablet tomorrow. However, that's just our speculation based on the facts we have at the moment. Let's hope for the best.

While the latest news is disappointing, especially when you consider that you spent more money getting the Wi-Fi + 5G variant over the Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet, we are only a few days away from April. So, even if Samsung releases One UI 6.1 by the end of April, you will not have to wait for more than a month to get it. One UI 6.1 brings many new and useful features and you check out all of them in our video below.
