While the Galaxy S24 series has received a tremendous response worldwide, it had a few camera-related issues. Samsung announced that it would fix most of those issues with the February 2024 update, and it has released that update in the US. The same update was released in South Korea last week and in Europe earlier today.

Carrier-locked Galaxy S24 gets camera-fixing February 2024 update in USA

The new software update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra is now available for carrier-locked units in the US. The update comes with firmware version S92x1UEU1AXB7 and has a download size of around 678MB. Apart from display and camera improvements, the update also brings the February 2024 security patch to fix around 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.

The update improves the image quality in scenes with high-intensity backlight sources when using high-resolution camera modes. It also improves text clarity while using high zoom ranges on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The update also improves the overall video quality using the rear-facing cameras on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung also improved the exposure of dark parts of a scene when capturing images indoors. The details and sharpness of human faces and pets have also been improved on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

In Food mode, Samsung has improved the intensity of colors on the Galaxy S24 series. The saturation of colors and white balance have also been improved in Night mode. The company has also improved the capturing of fast-moving subjects in scenes with strong backlight when using the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The colors and exposure of humans, pets, and flowers have also been improved. Samsung has also improved the viewing experience of images and videos shot using the Galaxy S24 in the phone's Gallery app. The experience of zooming in a RAW image has also been enhanced. The update also adds a ‘Vividness' slider that can be used to increase/decrease color vividness in the Vivid mode.

If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy S24 series phone in the US, you can now check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database once it is available. You can then use it to flash the new firmware on your Galaxy S24 series phone manually.
