The new software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rolling out in European countries. The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 comes with firmware version F731BXXS1BXBE, while the new software for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes bearing firmware version F946BXXS1BXBE. These new updates bring the February 2024 security patch to the foldable phones, and it fixes 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. It could be the last software update before Samsung rolls out the One UI 6.1 update to these Galaxy Z series phones.
If you have the Galaxy Z Flip 5 or the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and if you live in Europe, you can check for the new update now. You can do that by opening the Settings app, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need to be well-versed in the manual firmware flashing process and have access to a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool installed.
Samsung launched these two phones with Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 software in mid-2023. The devices received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update a few months ago.
