Samsung may bring the Car Crash Detection feature to some of its high-end smartphones. This feature was first launched by Google in 2019 with the Pixel 3. Later, Apple introduced a similar feature with the iPhone 14 series last year. Now, more companies could bring that feature to their smartphones.

Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 could get Car Crash Detection feature

According to Mishaal Rahman, Samsung could be working on the Car Crash Detection feature, and there are signs that some high-end Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold 5, could get the feature. Since One UI 6.1 doesn't seem to have that feature, it is possible that the South Korean firm could include that feature with the One UI 7.0 update later this year.

Car Crash Detection works with the help of an accelerometer, gyro, and microphone to get audio and movement data from your smartphone. Then, that data is used to determine whether you've been involved in an accident. If that is the case, the phone shows an option to call 911 (in the USA) or to confirm whether you're okay. If you don't click anything on the screen for a few minutes, the phone automatically calls emergency services like 911 and sends them your current location.

Google's Pixel smartphones also offer the option to silently share your current location with the fire department, medical emergency services, and the police department once Car Crash Detection comes into play. It isn't clear if Samsung will also have that feature, but we can expect the company to offer features that are on par with its competitors, Apple and Google.
