Like the Z Flip 5 update, the Z Fold 5 and Flip 4 update has made its debut in the US, but it shouldn't be long before it is rolled out in other markets as well. For the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the update comes with a firmware version ending in AWJ7 and is available for unlocked units. The Fold 4's update is rolling out to unlocked units and devices on AT&T's network and comes with a firmware version ending in DWJ1 and DWJ4, respectively.
The November 2023 security patch plugs a total of 65 vulnerabilities in the Android OS and Samsung's software, with five marked critical and the rest carrying varying degrees of risk. The update doesn't bring anything else to the two foldables.
To download the latest update on your Z Fold 5 or Z Fold 4, open the phone's Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. If the update is available for your device, it should show up in a few seconds. If not, try again later, or download the latest firmware from our archive and manually install it on the phone using a Windows PC.
Editor's Note: New features and other improvements will come to the Z Fold 5 and Z Fold 4 with the Android 14 and One UI 6 update. Until that update is ready, the standard monthly updates will most likely continue to be limited to security fixes and general stability. The Fold 5 is currently ahead in terms of how many One UI 6 beta updates it has received until now, so it is likely to get the stable firmware before the Fold 4.
