Samsung has released the October 2023 security update to even more foldable phones. After releasing it to third, fourth, and fifth-generation Galaxy Z series phones, the new security update is now available for the original Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US.

Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G are up to date with latest security patches from October 2023

The Galaxy Z Flip is getting the October 2023 security update in the US to both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked models. The carrier-locked version of the phone gets the update with firmware version F700USQU8JWI2, and it is currently available on Sprint's network. The unlocked version of the phone is getting the update bearing firmware version F700U1TBU8JWI2, and it is available on all carrier networks in the country.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G's factory-unlocked model is getting the new security update with firmware version F707U1UEU6IWI2. It is available on all carrier networks across the US. The new security patch fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. Since the new update only brings security patches, don't expect to see any new features or performance improvements.

If you have a Galaxy Z Flip or Z Flip 5G in the US, check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
