App support for Wear OS smartwatches has been improving tremendously over the past couple of years. Various third-party app developers have been bringing their apps to Wear OS smartwatches since the Galaxy Watch 4 was launched. Now, Peloton, which launched its Wear OS app earlier this year, has introduced a watch face complication.

The Peloton app for Wear OS now supports (via 9To5Google) a watch face complication that you can use on your Galaxy Watch 4 (or newer smartwatch). With the watch face complication, you can jump straight to tracking a workout. Once you set this complication on your watch face and click on it, you will be presented with a list of workouts, including running and walking. It doesn't show you any data from your activities or workouts, but at least it's a start.

If you are a Peloton user and have a Wear OS Galaxy Watch, you can now use its watch face by updating the app from the Google Play Store. Plenty of activity and health tracking apps have been launched for Wear OS smartwatches, including Adidas Running, AllTrails, Fitbod, FitOn, Map My Fitness, MyFitnessPal, Nike Run Club, and Workout Tracker. However, the collection is still not as rich as what's available for the Apple Watch.

Samsung's own Samsung Health app is quite feature-rich and even supports workout data syncing with a couple of workout equipment manufacturers. However, the South Korean firm needs to bring support for even more smart workout tracking machines and related brands to improve the ecosystem.
