A few days ago, Google unveiled Google Assistant with Bard, a new way of interacting with an AI digital voice assistant. It can search for data on the internet as well as in your Google account to offer relevant answers to your questions. It is built around Generative AI, and it could be initially limited to Google and Samsung smartphones.
Google Assistant With Bard could come to Galaxy S24 early next year, followed by Galaxy S23
A new report from 9To5Google claims that Google Assistant with Bard could be limited to Pixel smartphones with a Tensor processor and Samsung's Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series devices. The publication has found some evidence in version 14.41 of the beta version of the Google app that Galaxy S23, Galaxy S24, Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series phones could have first dibs on the new AI-powered digital voice assistant. Based on the information found by 9To5Google, Google Assistant with Bard will be released to Pixel phones first. Then, it could be released to the Galaxy S24 early next year, followed by a release to the Galaxy S23 series.
Google already mentioned last week that Google Assistant with Bard will be rolling out to select testers shortly. Moreover, it will be an opt-in experience, which means you may have to opt in to test the feature. The rollout will happen over the next few months, so don't expect all Android phones anytime soon.
Samsung is also expected to launch several Generative AI-powered features with the Galaxy S24. As a part of the Exynos 2400 announcement, the company revealed that its new chip offers 14.7x faster AI processing for faster Generative AI (text-to-image, to be specific) performance on its next flagship smartphones. We expect to see multiple Generative AI features with the One UI 6.1 update.
