Samsung is getting serious with its laptops, and this year, the company has launched some seriously impressive laptops. Thankfully, even Microsoft is getting serious with Windows 11 and is adding a lot of new features with more frequent software updates. The company is now making the Photos app better by adding slideshow and spot removal features.

Microsoft is updating Windows 11's Photos app with slideshows, timeline, and spot removal

Microsoft has started testing an updated version of the Photos app for Windows 11. It brings the slideshow feature that lets you view a bunch of photos and videos with attractive animations, transitions, and looping. There is an option to add background music, and there are various music themes (Chill, Fun, Energetic, and Sentimental) to choose from. Users can play/pause the slideshow, go back to the previous image, and make the window fullscreen.

The company is also bringing back the much-requested timeline feature in the Photos app. So, when you your library of images and videos to the app, it will display all the photos in a timeline. You can find photos by a particular month and year or scroll to a part of the timeline to see memories from that time.

Microsoft is also adding a feature that lets you remove blemishes or unwanted things from an image. It sounds a lot like Google's Magic Eraser, but it doesn't work to the same effect. It tries to blur things and replace the selected part of the image with nearby things in the frame. These new features are already available to some beta testers and will be available to all users in the coming months.
