Samsung’s new website lets you find out if your smartphone has the best OLED

Samsung Display has released a new website to help everyone find out if their products feature Samsung OLED technology. The website is called OLED Finder and includes devices made by Samsung Electronics and other brands like Asus, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus, and Meizu.

OLED Finder is in the beta stages, and for now, its search engine is limited to 700 smartphone models from eight different smartphone brands. However, Samsung Display says it wants to expand the capabilities of the new OLED Finder website to also help users identify if laptops and tablets are equipped with OLED panels made by Samsung.

You can visit OLED Finder directly or scan the QR code below to access the website, but keep in mind that it is in the beta stages, so you may encounter minor issues. As of this writing, searching for devices by “Other” brands doesn't seem to work. So if you're trying to find out if an iPhone has a Samsung Display OLED, you might be unable to as of now. But we're sure Samsung will work out these kinks and improve the Finder in time.

Samsung Display says that 70% of smartphones that use OLED panels are using Samsung technologies. The company is the largest OLED supplier in the world, boasting a 70% market share, but it is not the only OLED panel manufacturer. So the purpose of the OLED Finder website is “to provide more accurate information to consumers that are looking for superior Samsung OLED products.”

It's a clever idea. OLED Finder can be a very useful tool for prospective smartphone buyers. And the website will be even more useful once tablets and laptops get added. Samsung didn't reveal when exactly that will happen, but with OLED laptops now becoming more popular and more Android OEMs gaining a bit more interest in tablets, these OLED Finder extended capabilities will be welcome
