It has been only two days since the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, and Samsung has already started dropping the prices of its previous generation Galaxy S series smartphones. Case in point: the Galaxy S22. The company has dropped the price of the Galaxy S22 in India by INR 15,000 compared to the launch price of the smartphone.

Galaxy S22 price in India drops

The Galaxy S22 was launched in India with a price tag of INR 72,999 (around $888) for the base variant, which has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Today, Samsung has dropped the smartphone's price to INR 57,999 (around $706). The latest price is live on the company’s official website for the country. Flipkart is selling the Galaxy S22 for an even lower price of INR 53,490 (around $651).

The 8GB + 256GB variant of the Galaxy S22 has also received a price cut. This variant was launched in India with a price tag of INR 76,999 (around $937), but Samsung India has officially dropped its price to INR 61,999 (around $754). Surprisingly, the price of the Galaxy S22+ remains the same. In fact, the phone isn’t even in stock in India. It is possible that Samsung may stop selling the Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra in India.

The newly-launched Galaxy S23 brings many improvements over the Galaxy S22, including a much faster and power-efficient processor, a brighter screen, improved cameras, and new connectivity options. However, the Galaxy S22 is no slouch. For the price, it has one of the best cameras, software experience, and build quality.

So, if you have been eyeing the Galaxy S22, now is the best time to buy it. That's especially true when you consider that this phone is almost INR 17,000 (around $200) cheaper compared to the Galaxy S23, which is priced in the country at INR 74,999 (around $913) for the base variant. But if you have more money to spend, the Galaxy S23 should be the one to buy.
