Samsung made the decision to remove the charger from the Galaxy S21 series. None of the three models come with a wired charger in the box. So unless you have one lying around, you'll need to buy one separately.

This is the first time that Samsung won't be shipping a charger in the box with a flagship smartphone. It's providing some relief to customers in the form of a price cut for its official 25W charger.

Samsung cuts the price of its official 25W charger

You won't need a 45W charger for any of the Galaxy S21 devices. As we explained in our detailed overview of Galaxy S21 charging speeds, none of the models support 45W charging. They only support 25W wired fast charging.

That means you'll need to buy a compatible charger from Samsung if you don't already have one. Even if you have an older device with a 15W USB Type-C charger, you might prefer the faster 25W charger. Samsung used to sell it for $34.99 previously but it's now permanently reducing the price.

You can buy Samsung's official 25W charger for $19.99. The company has cut the price by $15 as an olive branch to customers who despite paying at least $799 for a Galaxy S21 won't get a charger in the box.

While you might be able to get a third-party USB Type-C charger for less, it's always recommended to use official charging accessories. It's a small price to pay for the safety that they provide.

With Samsung now having made the decision to remove chargers, you can be sure that its future flagships won't come with one either. So buy one now and hold on to it. You're gonna need it.
