We've been hearing a lot lately about Samsung's alleged plans to make at least one Galaxy S21 variant compatible with the iconic S Pen, and the company's President and Head of Mobile Communications Business TM Roh has just confirmed this in a roundabout way.

In a recent statement to the mobile press, TM Roh discussed more about the Galaxy lineup's foreseeable future and, among other things, he confirmed that Samsung is looking for ways to bring the Galaxy Note experience to more devices.

We’ve also been paying attention to people’s favorite aspects of the Galaxy Note experience and are excited to add some of its most well-loved features to other devices in our lineup said TM Roh without mentioning the S Pen outright. But it's undeniable that the S Pen and accompanying suite of S Pen apps are the main elements that Galaxy Note owners love most about their devices.

The Galaxy Note series might still live on

Adding S Pen support to the Galaxy S21 series won't necessarily signal the demise of the Galaxy Note family of devices, although this possibility still exists, according to some industry insiders.

On the other hand, even if we assume that the Galaxy Note series is on its way out, it's safe to say that Samsung will first try to ensure that the S Pen can coexist with other devices before it will pull the plug on the popular Note series.

Finally, there's also the possibility that the Galaxy S21 won't be the only non-Galaxy Note device to offer S Pen support next year. Samsung doesn't outright claim that it will bring Note-grade experiences to the Galaxy S21 specifically but to other devices in our lineup, so there could be more than one. Samsung might also be working on bringing the S Pen to its foldable series.

Samsung touts better pro-grade camera capabilities in 2021

Aside from the promise that more Galaxy Note features will be making their way outside the Note ecosystem, Samsung's president also confirmed that its engineers have been working on improving the camera experience of its mobile phones in 2021.

Look out for super-intelligent, pro-grade camera and video capabilities in 2021, said the announcement. The company hasn't mentioned exactly what camera hardware the Galaxy S21 series will use but recent reports hint at a Sony IMX563 sensor with impressive capabilities. In addition, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is said to boast not one, but two telephoto sensors with 3x and 10x optical zoom levels.
