Galaxy S10 LED cover to have an ‘Emotional Lighting Effect’

Do you ever just look at your phone’s case and wonder if it could give you some emotional support? Samsung seems to think a lot of people are doing this which is why the Galaxy S10 LED cover will have an “Emotional LED Lighting Effect” for some reason.

This LED cover for Samsung’s upcoming flagship has surfaced in a leaked image. The company is no stranger to making first-party accessories for its devices so there’s little doubt about the authenticity of this case.

Galaxy S10 LED cover has a garish ambient effect

We have previously seen LED flip covers from Samsung. They have a flap on the front which covers the screen and also displays notifications and a clock. That implementation was pretty useful. Samsung seems to be going in a completely different direction with the Galaxy S10 LED cover.

There no flap on the front and the LEDs are all at the back. This means that the notifications will only be useful if your phone is lying face down. That’s not how you’ll be placing your phone if you’re bold enough to rock a Galaxy S10 without a screen protector. The Emotional LED Lighting Effect appears to be a garish ambient pattern that mimics a starry night at the back of your phone.

You can all put your heads together and try to comprehend why Samsung feels something like this is required. It’s confident enough about its efficacy and this case will seemingly be offered for all three Galaxy S10 variants. It’s not something that I would be particularly interested in wasting my money or my Galaxy S10’s battery life on, for that matter.

As a normal cover this might be a good.slim option like the old s8 protective covers in transparent black.

May pick one up for my s10 when it’s drops in price

So, when I place my phone on a wireless charger I can’t see it? Seems legit

it bothers me that there is a stupid hole for the camera but there is still a quite big bezel at the bottom..

You’re supposed to have your phone face down. I’ve been doing it since edge lighting was introduced and never had a problem with scratches. Not like you’re having it face down on concrete!
I never understood the LED cover before anyway, it displayed limited notifications and, to me, they looked too small. At least with this, you appear to get a larger image and the full back effect is welcomed. Why shouldn’t it?! I think it looks nice. Like the infinity wallpapers of last year

Samsung is assuming you’re going to use reverse wireless charging a lot, which would have you place your phone face-down on a flat surface. If your phone is face-down you’ll miss your notifications, which explains the need for a back LED cover.

That makes sense but in actual reality the reverse wireless will be covered if they place a phone on top or even the ear buds case.

Personally think this is a gimmick along with the reverse wireless.

Also who wants to put their phones screen towards the table?

You won’t be charging other people’s phones with reverse wireless charging, it’s mainly for your Samsung accessories. A galaxy watch or earpuds case won’t cover it entirely since the device is huge, so this does appear to be useful (I’m betting this will have AOD and charging animations). As to the reverse wireless charging being a gimmick then yeah, for most people it is. But for those who opt for the galaxy watch and galaxy earpuds alongside the S10 it should come in handy from time to time. If the case has top and bottom edges that are recessed enough,… Read more »
