This tempered glass protector will work with Galaxy S10 fingerprint sensor

The Galaxy S10‘s in-display fingerprint sensor may not work with tempered glass screen protectors, and we recently saw evidence for that in a leaked video. The video showed the Galaxy S10+ being tested with a screen protector, which had a ugly cutout for the in-display fingerprint sensor. However, a company is claiming that its tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy S10 works without needing a cutout.

Whitestone Dome Glass for Galaxy S10

Whitestone says that the issue with tempered glass protectors not working with an ultrasonic reader is an air gap created between the sensor and the screen. However, the company claims to have solved the issue with its Dome Glass protector, making it the only tempered glass screen protector that can recognize the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy S10 and S10+. It utilizes Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive (LOCA) technology to fill any gaps.

Whitestone’s Dome Glass comes with an Oleophobic coating, which promises crystal clear transparency. It also promises highest touch sensitivity on all areas of the screen, including the curves. The Dome Glass is designed to absorb and distribute impact shock, Whitestone says.

Applying the Dome Glass itself seems a big task, given you need to prevent tiniest of air bubbles. However, to help you out, Whitestone will provide you with an install frame and a UV curing light. You can also check out the installation video below.

The Whitestone Dome Glass for the Galaxy S10 costs $60 for a pack of two. You can pre-order it here.

And how is the LOCA glue going to behave around these camera holes, may I ask?

Most glass screen protectors do not work with curved screens. The price for this set is insane. I could see $20-30.00 for this not $60.00… It was a nightmare trying to find something for my S7 Edge 2 years ago… And here we are in 2019 and it’s still a problem. I wouldn’t be shocked if a lot of people bought the S10e since it has a flat screen..

This type has been unreasonably expensive so far, I guess it won’t be any different. In addition, based on a wealth of shared experience, it is no better and more durable than a $ 5 product. But now there’s a reason for its price because it only works well with it.

Is it weird that there’s so many leaks about the S10 everyday, but very rare leaks of the foldable display, considering they both will be showcased in the event?

foldable phone probably hasnt been mass produced thats why, will come out at a much later date. only videos of it. s10 because of its mass production its so much easier to leak.

Everything about the S10 already leaked and making it the most leaked phone in S series. The foldable phone will be the star of the unpack event now.

not really since the “leaks” are just carefully released snippets of information. Real leaks are very rare due to prohibitive NDAs.

The S10 and S10+ have been fully leaked ages ago with the full specs and everything… Heck a video just happened to get leaked the other day. Of couse Samsung tried to put a plug on it but a lot of people had downloaded that video now and is spreading like wildfire… The S10e hasn’t been fully leaked yet…..

£60 for two screen protectors!! Why not sell them individually at that ridiculously expensive price, or aren’t they expected to last before requiring replacement?

The Note 9 has 1 protector sets too, and glass only sets, next to the double set. I would expect the same for the s10

Tbh tempered glass protector do not work very well on curved screen as it will give touch sensitive issues at the edges or the glue doesn’t stick correctly and let’s in dust in the sides.

Not been able to apply a decent glass proctor on an s device since the s6. Even the s7 had a curve to the edge which causes installation issues

The white dome glass protector is universally recognised as the best curved glass screen protector as you dint lose touch sensitivity and sticks down with no issues. Main drawback is the price but if your paying close to 1k for a phone, then using cheap screen protectors and cases should be avoided as they don’t offer you the same kind of protection. Personally use spigen or ringke cases.

I hadnt purchase a glass protector since the note 5 because I kept hearing this issue. But when I got my Note 9, I didnt get any insurance on it because sprint wants like $30 a month now, so I figured Id buy one anyway. I ordered a amFilm tempered glass back in November and this thing has been perfect. Ive had no issue with touch sensitivity or any glass raising. I have had a little dust get under the glass but nothing that would bother me.
