The Galaxy S10‘s in-display fingerprint sensor may not work with tempered glass screen protectors, and we recently saw evidence for that in a leaked video. The video showed the Galaxy S10+ being tested with a screen protector, which had a ugly cutout for the in-display fingerprint sensor. However, a company is claiming that its tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy S10 works without needing a cutout.

Whitestone Dome Glass for Galaxy S10

Whitestone says that the issue with tempered glass protectors not working with an ultrasonic reader is an air gap created between the sensor and the screen. However, the company claims to have solved the issue with its Dome Glass protector, making it the only tempered glass screen protector that can recognize the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy S10 and S10+. It utilizes Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive (LOCA) technology to fill any gaps.

Whitestone's Dome Glass comes with an Oleophobic coating, which promises crystal clear transparency. It also promises highest touch sensitivity on all areas of the screen, including the curves. The Dome Glass is designed to absorb and distribute impact shock, Whitestone says.

Applying the Dome Glass itself seems a big task, given you need to prevent tiniest of air bubbles. However, to help you out, Whitestone will provide you with an install frame and a UV curing light. You can also check out the installation video below.

The Whitestone Dome Glass for the Galaxy S10 costs $60 for a pack of two. You can pre-order it here.
