Samsung Pay has received a long-requested update in India. The upgrade transports support for Kotak Mahindra Bank credit and debit cards, in addition to a slew of undisclosed bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

Last month, Samsung issued a similar upgrade in the region for its mobile payment platform, which added compatibility for MasterCard credit cards issued by Yes Bank, one of the largest independent financial institutions in India.

As always, it can take a few days for the update to reach your handset, but as soon as it does you'll be able to add a supported Kotak Mahindra Bank card to Samsung Pay to start making mobile payments in both physical and online stores.

Is Samsung Pay compatible with my smartphone?

Samsung Pay is available on a wide range of smartphones in India, including the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy J7 (2016), with more units being added to the list on a regular basis.
