The 64GB variant of the Galaxy Note 8 is priced at KRW 1.09 million (about $965) in Korea, making it the costliest Note series smartphone ever. The Galaxy Note 7 was priced at KRW 989,800 (about $875) last year. The South Korean smartphone giant is planning to start shipping the Galaxy Note 8 to early adopters starting September 15, while the device will be readily available for purchase on September 21.
Industry sources predict the pre-order numbers of the Galaxy Note 8 to be similar to that of its predecessor, which managed to sell 200,000 units on the first two days. The Galaxy Note 7 pre-order sales numbers reached 400,000 units in thirteen days, while the Galaxy S8 pre-order sales reached 1 million in the first 16 days.
The Galaxy Note 8 features a larger, 6.3-inch Infinity Display, dual-12MP cameras with OIS, an improved S Pen, and more software features. Even though the Galaxy Note 8 has improved in almost every regard over its predecessor, its sales performance is harder to predict due to its higher-than-expected price tag.
