The Galaxy Note 8 may not be the first Samsung smartphone to sport a dual-camera setup

The Galaxy Note 8 may not be Samsung’s first smartphone to sport a dual-camera configuration. Well, at least that’s what a reliable tipster claims. Unfortunately, the source didn’t provide any details about what device the new setup will debut on, though there’s a chance it’ll be on board the long-rumored Galaxy X.

Internally codenamed Project Valley, the Galaxy X is believed to be the firm’s upcoming flagship with a foldable display. Information surrounding the handset is sparse, but recent rumors point towards it featuring a 5-inch display that can fold out, transforming the handset into a 7-inch tablet.

I really don’t care about having a dual camera. One works just fine. A more useful feature would be the IR blaster.

Just as long as the Note 8 sports a flat display. I just had to return my S8, due to the horrible edge display. Just feels way too thin on the side and all the well known issues of the edge display, are still very much there. Glare, image distortion, incredibly narrow usable width, accidental touches etc etc. PLEASE Sammy….give your diehard fans a flat display flagship phone again. This comment will get a flood of down votes, I know, but I also know there are thousands of people who can’t stand the edge display. From a practical standpoint….it’s useless.… Read more »

Hear hear. I’m clinging on my aging Note 3. That phone is in use for more thatn 3,5 years now. I’ve never lasted this long with a phone and it is by lack of alternatives I’m still using it. Samsung going full monty on edged screens isn’t helping.

I didn’t have the same experience as you regarding the edges/curves on the S8(+),but,I agree that there should be an equivalent with a traditional flat display. I returned my S8+ today, overall a decent phone, but, not enough new or innovative features to justify the $850 price tag.Was hoping against hope for development for the SnapDragon variant(s),but, that likely will come too late in the game,or,not at all. If I had the Exynos version, perhaps I’d hang on to it for a while………. Also prefer the standard 16:9 ratio vs the 18:9,but,with Samsungs’ Galaxy S lineup, that ship has likely sailed. I hope the Note 8… Read more »

The Note8 unfoldable better be the first Samsung flagship to arrive next, dual camera or not. Otherwise I am going to LG because I won’t wait forever. Have been waiting since Note7 fiasco.

Taking it positively,
I think they will debut an extra series for dual cam i.e. galaxy X series OR upcoming galaxy C series pro phone would have first dual cam

Then note 8 will get it definitely as it would be called second smartphone to have that dual cam setup

Then hello note 9
They displyed 6 gb ram last yr but didnt implemented on note 7 or s8 globally
Same goes to exynos 8895 showed off to have support for dual ISP but they wont give it until 1/2 yr

I dont believe. It’s too early to say that. Before the s8 came out your tipster told that there will be a dual cam on s8.
