Galaxy S7 edge gets February security patch in India

Samsung recently updated the Indian variant of the Galaxy S7 with the February security patch, and it is now rolling out the same update to the Galaxy S7 edge in the country. It’s rather odd to see Samsung still being unable to push out updates to both the regular and edge models at the same time, but the company will hopefully get a lid on these delays when it launches both versions of the Galaxy S8 with an Edge display.

In any case, the update is now available over the air for Indian users. Apart from the February security patch, there isn’t anything noteworthy in this update, although we have heard that it brings slight improvements to battery life. To get the update, hit the Download updates manually button in the Settings » Software update menu on your S7 edge (it is a 103 MB download). After it is done installing, your phone’s firmware build should be G935FXXU1DQBO.

My phone(S7 edge India) stuck at the SAMSUNG logo when installing the update two days back.I have given my phone to service center,First they tried to hard reset my phone and still faced the same issue.,only SAMSUNG logo was showing. I had also faced the same issue. Wait till they replace your motherboard. They replaced my motherboard twice, and downgraded to Marshmallow. Now it is working fine.

If it is running fine with Marshmallow means, the problem is with the Nougat update right?. Android 7 released back in last June. After months of development and beta testing still samsung is unable to launch a stable version of Android 7. Is it save to upgrade to Nougat or we need to use it with Marshmallow?

Yes, the issue is with the Nougat update only. In fact the service centre people told me not to upgrade to Nougat for now. The current Nougat update does some damage to the motherboard. So if you already have upgraded, then go to service centre to change the motherboard, and ask them to upload the latest Marshmallow. If you have not upgraded, then do not do it for now. With Marshmallow my phone works absolutely great.

Well it was the first to get updated to Nougat, certainly could be the last to get updated to the Feb security patch.
