What’s New With Nougat Part 12: You can add third-party app functions as quick toggles

Home / News / What’s New With Nougat Part 12: You can add third-party app functions as quick toggles

The list of new functionality included in Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge seems to be a long one. There seem to be a lot of changes to the notification shade, and the latest Nougat beta brings with it the ability to add shortcuts to third-party app functions as toggles in the Quick Panel. For example, you can enable or disable background sync for your Twitter app, toggle offline mode in Spotify or Nearby mode in Google Maps, and so on.

Android’s notification shade can be accessed from every screen, so the ability to have shortcuts to third-party app features in the Quick Panel should come in very handy (although we’re unsure just how many apps will be supported with this feature). Check out the screenshot below, and don’t forget to see what other features are part of Nougat in our What’s New With Nougat section. Also, if you’re in the UK and missed the chance to enroll in the beta program, you can currently try your luck again as Samsung has reopened registrations.

I just bought a tv with hdr and wow what a difference does it make. So are there any technical limitations for samsung to bring mobile hdr used in the note 7 to s7 line, I mean dont they they use the same screenpanels ( one is just bigger then the other)

Updates are coming much faster. Features are far from useless. I have always rooted every Samsung on the old TW. Now, there is literally no point to rooting any more and you can disable apps with package disabler pro or similar without needing to root. Rooting is just something some people continue to do until they realise one day what a waste of time and effort it is.
