Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE now receiving the long-awaited Marshmallow update in Germany

Last updated: August 25th, 2016 at 21:13 UTC+02:00

Despite representatives taking to Samsung’s Twitter profile to reveal that it wouldn’t distribute the Android 6.0.1 update for the 8.4- or 10.5-inch first-generation Galaxy Tab S in Europe last week, the South Korean company has today started rolling out the upgrade for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE (SM-T805) in Germany.

The update itself is a pretty small download, weighing in at a mere 812MB, but don’t let its size fool you as it still packs all of the Marshmallow goodness we’ve grown to love, including greater control over app permissions, enhanced battery-life through Doze and, of course, a redesigned App Drawer.

Model SM-T805
Model name GALAXY Tab S
Country Germany
Version Android 6.0.1
Changelist 8816210
Build date Tue, 09 Aug 2016 02:36:44 +0000
Security Patch Level 2016-07-01
Product code DBT

To see if the over-the-air (OTA) upgrade is ready to be installed on your device, simply head into Settings, followed by About Device, then tap the Download Updates Manually button. Alternatively, if it’s not ready for your slate just yet, you can grab a copy of the software package from our firmware database and manually flash it onto your unit.
