Samsung announced the Gear VR Innovator Edition for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge last month, and now, Samsung Japan has announced that it will start accepting pre-orders from April 23. Consumers in Japan can try out this virtual reality headset from April 8 at their nearest Galaxy Stores, while the shipping will start in early May. It will also be available from EDION, BIC CAMERA, Yamada Denki, and Yodobashi Camera partner stores in Japan.

Samsung had first stepped into the virtual reality headset market with the Gear VR Innovator Edition for the Galaxy Note 4. The South Korean electronics giant works in collaboration with the famous Oculus VR (which is now owned by Facebook), which reignited consumers’ interest in virtual reality headsets. Due to increased pixel density in the Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge, when compared to the Galaxy Note 4, users can experience sharp visuals through Gear VR Innovator Edition for the Galaxy S6.
