Verizon and Sprint's Galaxy Note 4 get update with Gear VR compatibility

It was reported yesterday that Verizon and Sprint consumers were left without a way to use their Gear VR headsets with their Galaxy Note 4, as the latter didn't have the necessary software update that adds compatibility for the virtual reality headset. Thankfully, neither carrier is making consumers wait for that update as it has now started rolling out over the air (with build number N910VVRU1ANJ5.) Sprint hasn't officially confirmed it, but Samsung says Sprint users are also getting the update; Verizon, meanwhile, has included quite a few changes in addition to support for the Gear VR.

These include a transparent Amazon widget, improved screen/font colors for non-active items, enhanced Wi-Fi performance, Spanish support in the Mobile Hotspot app, fixes for Google Drive, fingerprint scanning, and an issue that prevented access to security settings, and a few others. Both the Sprint and Verizon Galaxy Note 4's should be getting a notification for the update in the next couple of days, and you can also do a manual check for the OTA from the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu.
