The Galaxy S4 Zoom was Samsung’s first attempt at combining a dedicated camera with a smartphone in an odd-looking fashion, and now, US carrier AT&T is finally updating the device to Android 4.4 KitKat, more than a year after that version of the OS was launched by Google. The update carries build number KKUCUBNI1 and should begin making its way to devices over-the-air in the next few days, hopefully in a timely fashion that makes some users forget just how long they had to wait for what is the first update the Galaxy S4 Zoom has received on AT&T since its launch a year ago.
According to Samsung’s support page, the update doesn’t include anything except the features that are default in KitKat, which include improved performance, white status bar icons, better battery life, full-screen album art on the lockscreen, wireless printing (useful for a device focused on taking pictures), closed captions support, and updated versions of a few Samsung apps.
