Virtual reality is one of the latest trends that Samsung is hoping will help it stay ahead of the curve, and the company's Gear VR headset has just found an extremely nice new use case. Audi and Samsung will be teaming up to offer customers in the UK a chance to experience the latest model of Audi's TT S Coupé through the Gear VR in 115 different Audi Centers, without the need to take the actual car for a spin on the road. To complete the virtual reality experience, Samsung will also be providing wearers of the Gear VR with its Level Over headphones.
Letting folks experience the TT S Coupé through the Gear VR will add “a touch of theatre to automotive retail, allowing Audi customers to experience the thrill of the new third-generation TTS in its full glory,” according to Nick Ratcliffe, Head of Marketing for Audi UK. A virtual reality setup will be installed in each of Audi's sales outlet in the UK, something the car maker hopes will help it differentiate its experience from the competition.
