Tinkerers, take notice. The Galaxy S5 Developer Edition is now available for purchase in the US from Verizon, almost a month after it first got listed on Samsung's website. Priced at $599 (only in Charcoal Black), the developer edition will get you an S5 with an unlocked bootloader so that you can modify its software in any way you see fit, without having to deal with a bootloader policy that Verizon refuses to budge from. According to Droid-Life, the price of the phone will only show up after you add it to cart, so don't be dismayed if you don't immediately see it after visiting the source link.
