Samsung, and its archrival Apple, continue to dominate in popularity in the smartphone market in the US, and have been ranked in the top spot in terms of customer satisfaction, in a study carried out by J.D. Power. The study found that consumers from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint were most satisfied with the performance of Samsung and Apple smartphones, though customers of certain carriers liked one over the other.

Samsung smartphones are the most satisfying on Sprint and T-Mobile, while Apple ranks at the top among Verizon and AT&T customers. The latter two are the larger carriers, so Samsung does come in behind Apple when you look at the total subscriber base, but overall the two companies – which continue their patent battles in court – are pretty much on the same level in customer satisfaction. The Galaxy Note II continues to be the most satisfying/popular Samsung smartphone, and we'll have to wait and see if the Note 3 can do anything to challenge that.
