When it was launched in 2023, the Samsung S95C TV was Samsung's flagship OLED TV. Several TV experts adjudged it one of the world's best TVs of 2023. Being Samsung's flagship-grade TV, it featured a high-end design, a QD-OLED panel, a multi-channel speaker system with Dolby Atmos audio, and several smart features.

What are the best features of the Samsung S95C TV?

The S95C uses Samsung Display's second-generation QD-OLED panel, featuring 4K resolution, HDR10, HDR10+ ADAPTIVE, HDR10+ GAMING, and HLG. Samsung claims it can reach peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, but realistic numbers are somewhere between 1,500 and 1,600 nits.

It was launched in three sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch.

The TV's variable refresh rate can reach up to 144Hz when connected to a PC and up to 120Hz with gaming consoles (like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X). Other gaming features of the S95C include AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM), and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). Software gaming features include Mini Map Zoom, Samsung Gaming Hub, and Super Ultra Wide Game View.

The audio experience on the S95C is pretty good, even without a dedicated soundbar or multi-channel speaker system. The TV has a 4.2.2-channel speaker setup with 70W RMS audio output and Dolby Atmos with built-in speakers. It is also compatible with Dolby Digital Plus. Other audio-enhancing features of the TV include Active Voice Amplifier Pro, Adaptive Sound+, Object Tracking Sound+, and Q-Symphony.

The S95C QD-OLED TV has four HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC), a USB Type-C port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one Ethernet port, and one RF port. All its ports are offered on a separate One Connect Box, which connects to the TV via a near-invisible cable. Wireless connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.

The TV runs Tizen OS and lets you install all your favorite music and video streaming apps, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. It also comes with Samsung's free video streaming service called Samsung TV Plus. It also features Samsung Gaming Hub and Samsung Health.

Some other smart features of the S95C include AirPlay 2, Alexa, Bixby, Miracast, Smart View, SmartThings Hub, Tap Sound, and TV View. Using AirPlay 2, Miracast, or Smart View, you can mirror the screen of your laptop, phone, or tablet to the S95C TV. You can also make video calls using an attachable webcam or your Galaxy smartphone or tablet.

What is the difference between S95C and S90C QD-OLED TVs?

The S95C QD-OLED TV is pricier than the S90C, so it is better in a few aspects:

  1. The S95C is brighter than the S90C, theoretically capable of reaching up to 2,000 nits, while the S90C can only reach up to 1,500 nits. In real life, the peak brightness of both TVs is lower than their advertised figures.
  2. The S95C has a 4.2.2-channel 70W speaker system with Dolby Atmos, while the S90C has a 2.1-channel 40W speaker system.
  3. The S95C has One Connect Box for all the input and output ports, and that box can be placed anywhere, offering more flexibility in terms of TV placement. The S90C has ports on the rear of the body, similar to most other TVs.
  4. The S95C has a USB Type-C port, while the S90C doesn't.
  5. The S95C lacks a 3.5mm analog audio output port, while the S90C has it.
  6. The S95C supports a 144Hz refresh rate at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, but the S90C only supports a 144Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution.
  7. The S95C consumes more power (up to 400W) than the S90C (up to 300W). But actual power consumption will vary depending on your usage.
