Although the Galaxy Z Flip 5 does not yet have Galaxy AI, it will, eventually. Even as we speak, Samsung is preparing a Galaxy AI One UI 6.1 update for the foldable flip phone and other high-end models.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has two arguably underrated exclusive features that, in some ways, are way cooler than Galaxy AI and will never make their way onto the Galaxy S24 series despite its promised seven OS upgrades.
Flex Mode and Cover Screen Widgets are two features that define the Galaxy Z Flip 5 experience. And unlike Galaxy AI, which could run on any Samsung device with a powerful enough NPU, Flex Mode and Cover Screen Widgets can only work hand in hand with the Galaxy Z Flip 5's form factor.
These two features are a natural outcome of the flip phone's exquisite design, so, in a way, they are way more interesting than Galaxy AI. They are what happens when form and function meet in perfect harmony.
Flex Mode and Cover Screen Widgets will always be Galaxy Z Flip-exclusive features. They'll continue enhancing the Z Flip experience with or without AI in ways the Galaxy S24 series can't even dream of. And that's why many Galaxy Z Flip 5 users aren't rushing in to trade their phones for the Galaxy S24.
Galaxy AI will eventually come to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, but the foldable flip phone will always have these two aces up its sleeve when confronted with the Galaxy S24 series and other slab-type phones. Flex Mode and Cover Screen Widgets may feel underrated now that Galaxy AI is stealing the spotlight, but those who know the Galaxy Z Flip 5 know better.
