Google is making yet another change to YouTube Music casting

Google is continuously improving its apps by adding new features, improving the existing ones, and making UI design changes on Android. It has now introduced a slight design change to how the music casting UI appears on the YouTube Music app for Android to make it easier to use.

YouTube Music gets a slicker music-casting menu design

The newer version of the YouTube Music app for Android brings (via 9To5Google) a newer and slicker menu for music casting to compatible smart TVs and smart speakers. Instead of the Cast To A Device pop-up box with sharp corners, the new UI uses a slide-up menu with curved corners. It takes up less space and displays the list of ‘Suggested Devices' first and then other Google Cast-compatible devices on the local Wi-Fi network.

In recent years, Google has added a persistent cast icon on the top-right corner of the screen. This way, users can always remember where to find the cast icon, even when there are no Google Cast-compatible devices on the network. When there are no such devices to which you can cast music, YouTube Music will show related help and guidance.

A big change has also been added to cast controls when music is cast to a compatible device. Earlier, it would open up a big pop-up box. Now, a small slide-up sheet appears from the bottom of the screen. These new design changes are still in beta testing, though, and not everyone would be able to see those changes right away. It is possible that those design changes will roll out more widely in the coming weeks.
