IKEA Smart Door Locks Matter Thread SmartThings CES 2026 - Source: Samsung
Furniture retailer IKEA's latest smart home product line is now available and it brings suitable options for Samsung users, as the product line is now compatible with Samsung's SmartThings ecosystem.
The company has seamlessly integrated its SmartThings platform with these Matter-over-Thread smart home devices which include basics such as smart bulbs and plugs.
Samsung was the first to adopt Thread 1.4 in a smart home platform. This low-power, short-range technology further expands the utility of smart home ecosystems, enabling Thread networks to work across brands as a single unified system. It delivers enhanced convenience for users and thus drives wider adoption of smart homes.
A total of 25 latest smart home devices from IKEA are compatible with SmartThings. The product line includes temperature and humidity sensors, a scroll wheel remote, smart bulbs, plugs, air quality sensors, motion sensors, door sensors, water leak sensors, and more.
This integration makes it very easy to connect the IKEA devices to SmartThings. Users previously had to get a separate IKEA smart home hub and a SmartThings Hub to connect the retailer's smart home devices to the SmartThings ecosystem.
These devices can now be connected directly to SmartThings. They will also work with Samsung products such as TVs, air conditioners, washing machines, and more.
All of these devices can now be set up and linked to your existing smart home ecosystem with the SmartThings app. Routines can also be created so that these devices work in tandem with other compatible products.
