Google is readying some new customization options for Samsung Galaxy Chromebooks and other ChromeOS devices. ChromeOS is developing a bunch of sunrise and sunset wallpaper variants along with new video screensavers. The ChromeOS sunrise and sunset wallpapers will change their appearance to better suit the current time of the day.

According to one report, just before sunrise, your Chromebook will display a softer and easy-to-the-eye kind of wallpaper. Whereas just before sunset, the wallpaper will change its mood, indicating that the workday is coming to a close. ChromeOS is working on new wallpapers that have four different designs to suit the time of day.

ChromeOS will also gain a couple of new video wallpapers

ChromeOS will schedule wallpaper changes based on your location's sunrise and sunset times. As of now, there's no clarity on which ChromeOS wallpapers will be given the sunrise/sunset treatment or if Google plans to bring this feature to a new set of wallpapers. Also, it appears that Google will be giving ChromeOS matching screensavers, judging by a couple of ‘Time of the day' flags for wallpapers and screensavers.

    Time of Day Wallpaper

    Time of Day Screen Saver
Enables Time of Day Screen Saver feature on supported devices. Requires Time Of Day Wallpaper feature to be enabled.

Both flags simply mention that they will work on ‘supported devices' with no mention of the supported Chromebooks. Additionally, Chromebooks are also set to receive two new video-based screensavers. Apparently, there will be initially only two new video screensavers, which will be simple MP4 video files that play in a loop and will be owned by Google. The first video screensaver is called ‘New Mexico' and the other one is called ‘Clouds.'

All these new sunrise and sunset wallpapers and new video screensavers for ChromeOS devices are expected to be functional by ChromeOS version 113, which is scheduled for May 4.
