That's not it. Microsoft and Amazon had their own restrictions and allowed only a small group of developers to publish their apps on the Appstore. Well, that has changed today because, as per the latest report, Microsoft and Amazon have opened their doors to all Android developers and any developer can now submit their app to the Appstore.
This means the number of Android apps available on the Amazon Appstore for Windows 11 will increase. As per the official announcement, there aren't any restrictions for any developer from submitting their app to Windows. Because of the restrictions, only 20,000 apps are available on the Amazon Appstore on Windows 11, and they work only in 31 countries.
However, with the opening of the floodgates, Microsoft and Amazon have invited Android app developers to bump the number of Android apps. Note that Android support for the Windows 11 feature is yet to be available on the stable channel, and Microsoft still calls it a preview feature. There are over 3.5 million Android apps on the Google Play Store.
After the invitation to publish apps on the Windows 11 Appstore, we could see a massive jump in the number of apps available in Microsoft's OS soon.
