The Premium subscription just got a lot more useful for Spotify users in the United States. The streaming service has announced that it's making more than 200,000 audiobooks available for free. Premium subscribers will be able to listen to their favorite audiobooks for a set number of hours with their Premium plan.

Spotify had previously offered this incentive to Premium users in the United Kingdom and Australia. It's now expanding the access to audiobooks in the United States. This incentive is available for each Premium individual as well as plan mangers for Spotify Family and Duo accounts.

Spotify Premium users in the US can listen to 15 hours of audiobooks

As part of their Premium subscription, users now get 15 hours of audiobook listening per month. This should be enough for two average audiobooks in a month. However, if you hit the limit, you can buy a 10-hour top-up between billing cycles to listen to more audiobooks. There's nothing you need to do on your part to access these audiobooks. You'll now begin seeing audiobooks marked as “Included in Premium,” just hit play to start listening.

The optional top-up is going to cost $12.99. It was previously announced to be $10.99 for users in the United States but Spotify has increased the price at launch. You'll find the audiobooks on the Spotify home feed and can also search for specific titles just like you'd search for music.

With more than 200,000 audiobooks in its catalog, there's going to be something for everyone. The company says that over 70% of its entire catalog is made up of bestselling titles, including the likes of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
