The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has just become the first foldable phone to receive the latest July 2022 security patch. And interestingly enough, the update debuted on the unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 3 (SM-F711U1) in the United States.

The latest update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 can be identified by firmware version F711U1TBS2DVEG. The package doesn't seem to contain any new One UI features or fixes, but it should improve security.

Samsung is keeping quiet about the July 2022 security patch for now. The company has yet to publish the changelog, presumably for security reasons. But customers are welcome to download the latest update and let us know in the comment section if they spotted anything out of the ordinary.

As usual, eligible customers should be able to download the new update upon receiving the notification. Alternatively, Galaxy Z Flip 3 owners in the USA can attempt to download the update by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”

We also offer the latest official Samsung firmware files on our website for Galaxy smartphone and tablet customers who prefer manual updates.

Samsung will presumably release the July 2022 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 soon, and the update should reach both foldable devices in more markets before the end of the month. We'll keep you posted.
