As reported today, Samsung has abandoned support for a couple of aging Galaxy tablets. They haven't received new Android OS updates in a while, and this month, they've also been denied security patches.
The tablets in question are the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020 and 2022). Although you can continue to use them relatively safely for the time being, you might consider the possibility of an upgrade.
Samsung's trade-in program in select markets, such as the USA, allows you to exchange these tablets for discounts on newer models. However, trade-in values are not the same across the board. They vary depending on which Galaxy tablet you exchange and the value of the tablet you want to buy.
We went ahead and checked the current trade-in values for these tablets at Samsung's e-shop. Below is a list of discounts you can get on Samsung's ongoing tablet models when you trade-in the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.
If you own the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, regardless of whether it's the 2020 or 2022 model, you can benefit from the following discounts upon exchanging the old Lite for a newer model.
Keep in mind that these are the maximum trade-in values you can get for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite or the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, assuming your tablet is in good condition. Trade-in discounts can be lower if your old Galaxy tablet has a cracked display or suffers from other types of damage or issues.
Likewise, trade-in discounts can change with time, and now that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Tab S6 Lite are no longer supported, they could drop in value or even get removed from Samsung's trade-in lists eventually.
