It's only been a couple of months since Sony unveiled the PlayStation 5 Slim. It's a thinner and smaller version of its popular console that's available in both disc and digital versions. Sony has also upped the storage to 1TB on the newer iteration.

At CES 2024, Sony announced three new colors for the PlayStation 5 Slim. These are side plates that can be purchased separately at prices beginning from $54.99. So even if you already own a console, you can change its color with these plates.

New PS5 Slim colors releasing later this month

Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue and Sterling Silver are the three new color options available for the PlayStation 5 Slim with matching DualSense controllers. Sony says that the new side plates will go on sale soon at $54.99.

These side plates are matte all the way through, unlike the standard white plates that come with the console and have a glossy and matte split. The colors are vibrant and suit the console very well. The Sterling Silver is reminiscent of the original PlayStation's colorway which is a nice throwback for all PlayStation fans. A matte all-Black option will be offered soon as well.

These three color options are called the Deep Earth collection. Sony had previously launched them for the original PlayStation 5 console in both the digital and disc variants. They're now available for the disc version of the PS5 Slim as well. The company hasn't confirmed as yet when these side plates will be available for the digital version of the slimmer console.
