Telegram Premium tier gets faster downloads, increased file limits and more

In an official blog post, Telegram has announced that it surpassed 700 million monthly active users. Telegram claims that it has never paid to advertise its app to become one of the top 5 downloaded apps, and all this has been achieved organically. Additionally, Telegram also announced the launch of its new paid tier, called Telegram Premium. Notably, the Telegram Premium tier comes with a host of exclusive features and a way to support Telegram's development.

Interested users can hop onto the Premium tier for $4.99. There are multiple benefits such as double-file limits, 4GB file uploads, faster download speeds, exclusive stickers with fullscreen animations, reactions, voice-to-text conversion, improved chat management, animated profile images, no ads, etc. On top of this, the Telegram Premium tier also lets you follow up to 1000 channels, create up to 20 chat folders, pin up to 10 chats in the main list, and much more.

Furthermore, Premium members can write a longer bio and also include a link in it, which could be useful for influencers or content creators. With 400 favorite GIFs, expressing oneself and responding to messages could become a lot easier and more fun. Also, Telegram Premium members can reserve up to 20 t.me links, allowing you to create a channel with a short and concise link.

To show off their subscription, Telegram Premium members also get access to a new set of icons that they can change according to their personality or home screen background. Some features are also available for non-premium members, such as the ability to download large documents, view stickers sent by premium members, join requests for public groups, an animated screen for external sharing, improved bot descriptions, verification badges in chats, and more.
