Samsung is going to launch two models of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the Galaxy Z Fold 7's successor while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the wider model that we've been hearing about for the better part of this year.
It appears that samples of the device are already circulating in South Korea, which is not unlikely, since the launch is bound to happen next month. Some preliminary observations have surfaced which are interesting to note.
The wider aspect ratio of models like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 can make people apprehensive about the weight and heft of the device. The observations shared through Korean portals suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is actually lighter than it would appear. If true, this would be a considerable plus given that this is Samsung's first iteration of the device.
The second observation is about the crease of the foldable display. Earlier reports have suggested that the crease will be materially reduced, and these observations seem to support that. It's claimed that the foldable display feels much closer to a conventional non-foldable display to the touch.
It's concluded based on this that if Samsung nails the marketing and pricing side of things, the company should reasonably expect strong demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
