Samsung started rolling out the stable version of One UI 8 Watch (Wear OS 6) to eligible Galaxy Watch models in October 2025. The update first arrived for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 7, and by the time the company released it for the oldest Wear OS-based watches, the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, it was December 2025, which was already quite late. Sadly, some Galaxy Watch 4 series users still haven’t received the update.
So far, Samsung has released the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series in many countries and regions, including Europe, India, South Korea, and the US. However, in most of those regions, the update arrived only for the non-cellular (Bluetooth-only) variants. In other words, Samsung hasn’t released the One UI 8 Watch update for the cellular (LTE) variants of the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in most countries.
This is probably the first time Samsung has been so late in releasing a major software update to a Galaxy Watch. At the moment, there’s no information about what is causing the delay. We hope that Samsung releases the update for the cellular (LTE/4G) variants of the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic as soon as possible.
One UI 8 Watch brings a ton of visual and functional upgrades, which you can check out here, giving your Galaxy Watch a fresh breath of life. As you might know, this is the last major update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. If that's making you think of getting a new smartwatch, you should take a look at the Galaxy Watch 8.
