A few days ago, Samsung added many features to the SmartThings app for iOS. Well, the South Korean tech giant is now removing some features from its smart home app for iPhones. More specifically, from Labs, a section where the company offers experimental features.
In the SmartThings app for iPhone, Samsung has sent a notice that all four features that are currently available in the Labs section — Gentle Wake-Up, No Worries While Away, Turn It Off When I Leave, and Welcome Home — will not be available from 22 December 2025.
All these Labs features are basically routines. It means that even if Samsung removes them, you can create routines to mimic them. If you are among the people using these features, it would be a good idea to go into the feature and take a screenshot to mimic the routine.
Samsung hasn’t said why the brand is removing these features. It is possible that the company may be taking them out of the Labs and putting them in the Routines section. It is also possible that the tech giant is removing them because not enough people are using them.
