Earlier this week, Samsung announced a major update for the SmartThings app. The updated app gets a brand new user interface in addition to performance improvements that significantly speeds up load times.

The updated app is rolling out now. We've got the APK available for download here on SamMobile, so you don't have to wait for it to eventually go live in your region.

SmartThings gets a new user interface

The user interface of the updated SmartThings app is more in line with the SmartThings app for Windows 10. Samsung released that app last month alongside the new Galaxy Book noteboks. The new user interface divides the app into five different sections called Devices, Favorites, Life, Automations and Menu.

Each section has its own purpose. For example, the Devices section shows the entire list of connected devices. Favorites is the new home screen that brings together your most used devices, services and scenes front and center for easy access.

The Automations section enables you to set specific conditions for devices and scenes. They are then enabled automatically when certain criteria defined by the user are met. The Life section provides you with a new way of discovering SmartThings services.

You can experience the new user interface in addition to the faster performance by downloading the latest SmartThings update from our database.
