Galaxy S25 Ultra running One UI 8.5 - Source: Abhijeet Mishra / SamMobile
After beta testing the update for more than four months, Samsung has finally started the official One UI 8.5 release. The phased roll out will see eligible Galaxy devices receiving this update in South Korea first, before it's expanded to Europe, Hong Kong, India, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
There's a lot to be excited about with this firmware update, and our colleagues over at SamMobile TV have put together a video to showcase just that.
One UI 8.5 brings many new features that you should be excited about. The new customizable Quick Panel is one of them. It lets you make various customizations to the options, toggles, and more. Additional personalization is possible with Quick Star through Good Lock as well.
Galaxy S25 Ultra owners will be pleased to know that the horizontal lock feature introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra will make its way to their device with One UI 8.5. Some new Galaxy AI features are included in the update as well and most, if not all, will be available on the Galaxy S25 series at least. Some may not filter all the way through to older devices.
