It’s been a little over a week since Samsung kicked off the One UI 8.5 beta program and released the first test build for the Galaxy S25 series. Those familiar with how Samsung handles its beta programs are now waiting for the second beta update, as that release usually goes hand-in-hand with the beta program expanding to more countries.
Could that second update be just around the corner? It certainly seems possible. A new beta build (version number ending in ZYLD) has been spotted on Samsung’s servers roughly a week after the previous one showed up. That relatively long gap—the previous one surfaced just three days after the first beta—suggests the latest build could be released to the public soon.
According to a rumor that was accurate about the beta program start date, the second phase could start on December 22, so we may have to wait until then for the second beta update. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. When it comes to beta software, things don’t always go according to plan.
