Samsung launched its own web browser for the Windows platform in 2023, but it was discontinued early last year. Now, after launching the Galaxy XR headset, Samsung seems to be preparing the Samsung Internet app for its Windows comeback. We’ve found signs of the web browser being in the works.

Samsung Internet could come back to Windows soon

In the beta version of Samsung Internet's mobile version, we found signs of the web browser for the PC. As you can see in the screenshots below, the South Korean firm is preparing for the launch of its web browser for Windows OS. You can see the ‘Samsung Internet is now available for PC' in a notification on top of the app's Settings page.

Similarly, the company could notify users about the Windows version of Samsung Internet on the app’s home screen editing page. Since major changes to the company's web browsers usually arrive with a major One UI update, we expect the Windows version of the app to launch alongside One UI 8.5.

When the app was first launched for Windows, it was quite basic, and the company didn’t even make a formal announcement at the time. This suggests that the development of the app may not have been fully completed in 2023, and Samsung launched the beta version of the app to test the waters.

Samsung has been developing several AI-powered features, and it is possible that the Windows version of Samsung Internet includes AI-powered features such as web page summarization, AI search, and data synchronization with the mobile version of the browser.
