Last year, a popular tipster claimed that Samsung is developing a smartphone with a rollable display and that it could launch the device in 2025. Well, after almost a year, we have some new information on the matter.
According to The Elec, Samsung is developing a smartphone with a rollable display and the company will launch it by 2025. The publication claims that the size of the rollable screen on the upcoming phone is 12.4 inches, leaving behind the Mate XT Ultimate’s 10.2-inch tri-fold display that everyone is talking about.
It is most likely the same 12.4-inch rollable screen that Samsung Display unveiled at the SID Display Week 2024 event. Furthermore, the report says that the phone will have an under-display camera.
The story continues after the video…
If the report is accurate, Samsung’s rollable smartphone will be the first phone with a rollable display in the world. Considering that no other brand launches a phone with such a form factor by 2025, at least.
Samsung launched its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold 5G, more than five years ago in February 2019. While some of the biggest phone manufacturers in the world, including Apple, are yet to catch up to the South Korean tech giant on that front, Samsung is already trying to up the game to leave the industry behind.
With the launch less than a year away, we should start getting more leaks about the device. Follow us on Telegram or WhatsApp to get the latest updates about everything Samsung.
