Consumers are increasingly relying on technology to reduce their energy footprint. It enables them to bring down the costs of powering and heating their homes as well as meet their sustainability objectives.

Hive is a leading platform in the United Kingdom that enables users to simplify their home energy management. It has built out a network of device partners that create products compatible with the app, and Samsung's heat pumps have now joined the list.

It was announced today that Samsung is now a part of the Works With Hive network. That's a collection of companies that sell products capable of transmitting energy-related data to the Hive app. Samsung's Wi-Fi enabled heat pumps are now controllable using the Hive app, which is also going to provide insights about the heat pumps' energy usage.

Hive users in the United Kingdom use the app to manage their home energy use, reduce their carbon footprint, and use insights provided by the data to lower their energy bills. As interest in heat pumps grow among homeowners in the UK, this partnership will deliver more control.

Homeowners in the UK are increasingly shifting towards heat pumps over conventional boiler-based solutions for heating up their homes. It helps that the country has cut down on heat pump restrictions. Homeowners can now install them much closer to the property boundaries than before without having to receive planning permission.

This opens up access to low-carbon heating for a lot more homes, and Samsung's Wi-Fi enabled heat pumps offer a viable option to those considering the switch from boilers.
