TL;DR

  • Samsung's global DRAM market share reached 39.4% in the first half of this year, up 5.4 points from a year earlier.
  • The gain was driven by strong memory-chip demand, constrained supply, and higher DRAM prices.
  • Samsung also posted share gains in smartphones, TVs, display panels, and digital cockpits.

Samsung is a dominant player in the global DRAM market, and the latest market figures reiterate the company's solid position.

Its global DRAM market share has hit nearly 40% in the first half of this year, amid a relentless demand super cycle for memory chips.

According to a report out of South Korea, Samsung's global DRAM market share hit 39.4% in the first half of this year. This was an increase of 5.4 percentage points from last year's 34% market share during the same period.

Rising demand and constrained supply has provided Samsung with incredible pricing power. Average sales price for DRAM chips has skyrocketed over the past year and shows no signs of a downturn just yet.

Samsung also saw a favorable trend in its global smartphone market share despite overall market weakness. It recorded a market share of 22%, largely due to the robust performance of the Galaxy S26 series, up 1.8% percentage points from the same period last year.

Among the company's other products, the total market share for TVs came in at 30.6% across the globe for H1 2026. It registered a 1.5 percentage points increase due to higher sales of premium models, including its Micro RGB and OLED TVs. For display panels, Samsung's market share increased to 46.5% while its share of digital cockpits for vehicles came in at 13.9%.
