Right after we stepped into this month, Samsung detailed the December 2025 security patch for Galaxy phones and tablets. Now, almost a week later, the brand has started rolling it out, and the Galaxy S25 series is the first to get it (via Tarun Vats).
Samsung is rolling out a software update to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in its home country, South Korea. It offers the December 2025 security patch, which fixes 57 security vulnerabilities. The update is 578.57MB in size.
We expect Samsung to offer the update in other regions around the world in the next few days. To check if the company has released the update in your country and to download and install it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
While we are on the topic of software updates, Samsung is expected to open the One UI 8.5 beta program for Galaxy phones and tablets soon. The brand may first offer it for the Galaxy S25 series and then for the Galaxy Z lineup and older Galaxy phones.
